Accounts Assistant

As Accounts Assistant, you’ll be working closely with the Finance Manager, providing full accounts and administrative support across the 3 businesses within our ecommerce group.

In this busy role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining purchase ledger accounts, inputting invoices onto Sage, and preparing monthly payment schedules
  • Maintaining sales ledger accounts, raising daily and monthly invoices, and inputting onto Sage
  • Completing and reconciling daily sales spreadsheets
  • Maintaining all bank, credit card and cash ledger accounts and weekly reconciliations on Sage
  • Maintaining the purchase order system including working with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries
  • Credit control
  • Reconciling and reviewing suppliers returns spreadsheets
  • Reviewing and processing customer refunds
  • Investigating and responding to merchant disputes
  • Quarterly VAT reconciliations
  • Inputting information for monthly payroll
  • Assisting with year-end accounts
  • Analysing nominal ledgers and monthly reconciliations
  • Producing weekly and monthly reports using Sage and Excel
  • General office duties, as required, to assist in the smooth running of the business

Skills and experience required:

  • Qualified to AAT Level 4 or equivalent
  • Experience of using Sage Line 50
  • Proficient user of MS Office 365 with a working intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to focus and maintain accurate attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Organised, logical approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as a part of a multi-tasking team within a busy environment

  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. Part time job share will be considered.
